Easter 2026: The Resurrection of Jesus Christ
The Single Greatest Event in All of History!
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not simply another event in history—it is the event that changed everything.
From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture points to one glorious truth:
Death has been defeated. Sin has been conquered. The grave has lost its victory.
The Fall: When Death Entered the World
Genesis 3 records humanity’s fall into sin.
Because of Adam’s disobedience:
- Sin entered the world
- Death began to reign
- Humanity was separated from God
Romans 5:12
“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin…”
Even believers before the cross awaited redemption.
Luke 16:19-31 reveals Abraham’s bosom—a place of comfort, yet still awaiting complete redemption.
The First Promise of Resurrection Victory
Genesis 3:15
“He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
At humanity’s darkest moment, God promised a Redeemer—the Seed of the woman—who would crush Satan.
In the Fullness of Time
Galatians 4:4-5
“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son…”
At the exact moment in history, God entered human history.
The Incarnation: God Became Flesh
John 1:1-14
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…”
Jesus is not merely a prophet, teacher, or religious leader.
Jesus is God in the flesh.
Born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit, fully God and fully man.
Luke 1:31-35
The Lamb Slain Before the Foundation of the World
The cross was not Plan B.
Revelation 13:8 declares Jesus as:
“The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
Before creation, redemption was already planned.
The Crucifixion: Love on Display
Luke 23:33-34
At Calvary, Jesus was crucified.
Even while suffering, He prayed:
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”
The Lamb of God shed His blood for the sins of the world.
The Resurrection: Death Could Not Hold Him
Luke 24:1-9
The women came to the tomb expecting death…
But heaven declared:
“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!”
The stone was not rolled away to let Jesus out—
It was rolled away so the world could see He was gone.
Mary Meets the Risen Savior
John 20:11-17
Jesus calls Mary by name.
The Shepherd still calls His sheep by name today.
The Veil Was Torn
Matthew 27:51-53
When Jesus died:
- The veil was torn
- The earth shook
- Graves opened
- Saints were raised
The way into God’s presence was opened forever.
Jesus: The Firstfruits of Resurrection
1 Corinthians 15:19-26
Jesus became the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
Because He lives, we shall live also.
Romans 8:29
He is the firstborn among many brethren.
The Lamb Who Prevailed
Revelation 5:1-14
Heaven declares:
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain!”
The crucified Lamb is now the reigning King.
King of Kings. Lord of Lords.
All Authority Has Been Given to Him
Matthew 28:18-20
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”
The resurrection established Christ’s eternal authority.
Satan’s Lie vs God’s Promise
Satan promised:
“You will be like God.” (Genesis 3)
God promises:
“When He is revealed, we shall be like Him.”
1 John 3:2
Only Jesus fulfills what Satan counterfeits.
Christ In You: The Hope of Glory
Colossians 1:27
“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
The resurrection is not just history.
It is present reality for every believer.
Do You Know Him?
Jesus defeated sin.
Jesus defeated death.
Jesus defeated Satan.
The question is:
Do you know Him?
Do you want to?

“This is My body… This is My blood of the new covenant…”
Because He lives, we remember.
